About Dr. Honan
Dr. Honan graduated from medical school as a medical doctor (MD).
In the general practice of medicine in Lebanon, Indiana, he provided
care for patients with a wide variety of illnesses, delivered babies and
shared with other local doctors in staffing the emergency room of
Witham Hospital.  He served in the US Army as a medical officer.  He
had residency training in the Department of Ophthalmology at the
Indiana University School of Medicine to become an eye specialist and
eye surgeon (Eye MD).  He was the first board certified specialist in
Lebanon.  As an eye surgeon he developed a special surgical instrument
to make cataract surgery safer.  The use of the instrument is taught in
eye surgery training institutions in the US and internationally and is
used worldwide.  Dr. Honan traveled to the Netherlands for special
training in lens implant surgery at the time of cataract surgery.  In 1975
he implanted one of the first, if not the first, lens implants in Indiana at
Witham Hospital.  Dr. Honan practices comprehensive ophthalmology
in Lebanon.  He is an associate professor at the Indiana University
School of Medicine.  In 1998 he was introduced to a new treatment to
eliminate his own many allergies.  It was so successful that he took
training in the treatment and has been offering this and other exciting
new therapies to patients.
